Great Outdoors Blackstone 1000 gas grill

by Frank Chelesnik
(Shawnee, Kansas)

Purchased my Great Outdoor Grill at least 12 years ago. You can't hardly beat the cast aluminum for retaining heat. We bake pizza in it, grill steaks, slow cook ribs and rotiserie chicken and roasts.

PARTS I HAVE REPLACED:

1. Had to replace the 25yr cast iron burner. The company was still in buisness and sent me a free replacement. If you have a burner cleaning tool, use it twice a year and vacuum out the grill a couple times per year.

2. Replaced the rock grate twice.

3. Replaced the ignitor twice. Maybe someday there will be a better way to light all gas grills.

RESTORATION:
I currently am compleatly overhauling the grill. I'm building a new patio and deck and the old grill was looking faded. Too good to discard. The cast aluminum was warrenteed for 75 yrs but good luck with that since the company is no longer in buisness. Expect to have it around for another 10 to 15 years or longer.

Keep your grill clean and covered if you want it to last.
