We have no way of physically testing each grill that is manufactured. And even if we could, there would be a bias because, most likely, we would use the same reviewer or reviewers. For example, if I were to rate grills I would have a bias based on my food preference; which happens to be barbecue over grilling. That means I would always be think that if this grill can't double as a smoker, then the food won't be to my liking. So, my review won't be as passionate as a review of a smoker.

That's where you come in.  You don't need to be an expert. The only thing you need is experience with a brand and model.  I'm sure something about your grill was wonderful, or not so wonderful.
