Disappointed with Char Griller 1224 Charcoal Grill w/Side Firebox
by Eric

After doing alot of research,I chose Char Griller based on the reviews, and the fact the grill had thicker metal, and cast iron grates, all at a good price. The assembly was not too bad,but the problem I had was the grill grates don't fit the body of the grill...they are too small! They barely catch the edges of the lip on the inside of the grill, and my first time cooking, the grates literally fell into the charcoal beneath the racks. After inspecting the grill,it's obvious the grill body is not manufactured even...you can look down the back of the grill body and see how curvy it is.The result is grill grates that fall into the ash in the middle if they move a 1/4 of an inch, and are relatively tight on the ends.I looked at a display model at Lowes, and the display had the same problems mine did.I will never buy another Char Griller again.I have it on Craigslist as we speak trying to get half my money back to put towards another grill.I still may call Char Griller, but the problem I am going to have is I used it twice, and I know for a fact they don't make different size grates..so I'm out of luck.Huge disappointment.
