Coleman 3300 Gas Grill

My Coleman 3300

My Coleman 3300

When my wife and I were engaged almost about 7 years ago, we got a gift certificate to Lowes or Home Depot, I can't remember which. It was enough to purchase a decent mid-range grill.

I didn't know a thing about grills, except that my last one had fallen apart in a few years. So, I was looking for something a bit more durable. Most of the stainless steel grills were outside of my price range at that point. But the Coleman 3500 was all cast iron. I figure that would be durable and also help to retain and control the heat for even cooking.

It also had really nice grates (is that what you call them?) that appear to be metal with a ceramic coating. They are easy to clean and, gee, the don't rust either.

After 7 years of cooking everything under the sun on this grill, I'm at the point where some of the innards are showing their age. The rest of the grill is in perfect condition and the starting mechanism works every time.

Since the innards are easily replaced, and I have a natural gas hook-up at my new home, I'm going to look into replacing everything to support natural gas grilling. That way, I don't have to get a new propane tank each month and I understand (from this site) that natural gas is more efficient and therefore less expensive.

I hope to get many, many more years out of my Coleman 3300. And it's not just because I'm cheap! The grill just works so why replace it?

I have the same grill

The grates rusted within the first year and I bougt more from coleman. Those grates rusted as well. The ignitor stopped two years ago.

It's always burned food from the start. Honestly I hate this grill and it was the worst investment I ever made. Coleman should have stuck to campfire grills and left the bigger ones to the big boys.
