Charmglow - Brinkmann Disappointment

Purchased Charmglow (made by Brinkmann) grill at Home Depot for $300. It looked impressive, but turned out to be the biggest piece of garbage ever and in my opinion their customer service/support we received is of poor quality as well. Previously, we had a simple Sunbeam that lasted us 15 years because we took care of it. Taking care of the Charmglow was irrelevant as it was falling apart regardless of the care it received. Materials are cheap and insufficient. Door doesn't stay closed (insufficient magnet). Door hinge quickly broke (causing door to fall off). Wheels have thin insufficient plastic hubs which quickly broke... and this was almost zero movement of the grill. Valves started failing as well and the stainless burners are cracking. Performance also lacks in major ways. Temps across the grill are extremely off. Flame-ups make cooking miserable and the roll-back lid with rear vents results in a face full of smoke during the entire cooking session. We followed up with Brinkmann about the problems and wanted replacements. Took forever to get a response after submitting the warranty claim and several follow-ups using their outlined process. Simply rediculous. Still... we've not received a single part yet and they won't warranty anything but the burners which I guess doesn't matter if they're not actually going to honor the agreement and send us any parts at all. So many times we've wanted to literally through this thing in the metal compactor at the local salvage yard and simply kiss that $300 good-bye. At least it would save future frustation. Next spring, it may just make it there and we'll start fresh with another brand grill. We highly recommend selecting another brand if you're purchasing a grill... no matter how good these may look and be priced at your local home improvement or big box stores.
