Bubba Keg Experience

I bought a Bubba Keg grill at Home Depot on 05/02/09 for $599.00. So far I have cooked a pizza, I have a green egg pizza stone. Then I baked a cake, then cooked some steaks. Today I cooked a beer butt chicken with some corn on the cob and baked potato all on the cast iron grate. Cooked at 350 temp. My wife keeps telling me how good everything tastes. Uses very little charcoal.

Nice Indirect Mod

I like that pizza stone, or whatever it is, but that really reduces the amount of cooking area.

I saw here that a BGE plate setter will work. You just have to get one for the Large and not the XL. Not sure how much they cost but they are probably worth it if it's going to be much longer for Bubba Keg to get one done.

The reviews I've read the the videos I've watched have stopped me in my tracks. I like to do slow cooking, so I was concerned about how the lack of a heat diffuser (one is coming I hear) would affect that. Also, I heard a couple of reviews mention the difficulty getting a low temp because it's so efficient...once you go over it's hard to come back.
